Day 21 of the 30/30 run program

To update my 30 runs in 30 days progress ==> my travel has been heavy and has often prevented me from swim and bike. However, I have been able to maintain my runs and am getting favorable feedback. Adaptations are coming along nicely. Leg stiffness from the first week has left me. My feet are feeling better than before the program started. Much of that is probably due to new tissues developing additional elasticity post surgery, but I think there has also been some strengthening of the smaller foot musculature that was needed due to atrophy and disuse. My cadence has really improved, from about 86-88 to 92-93 on the treadmill. I think this will prove critical to me as I go longer and do more runs outdoors. Along with that increased cadence the initial increased HRs have come back down. I noticed similar adaptations on the bike with high cadence riding and efforts used standing. HRs respond quickly 3-4 weeks as the body adjusts and lays down neuromuscular pathways. I couldn't be happier with the progress I am seeing. It's probably fortunate that my overall training volume has been compromised during recent travel to races and seminars.
