I know a "magic bullet" of sorts doesn't exist, but I'm curious:
KP & other gurus -- if you had to recommend the purchase/acquisition/implementation of ONE reasonably-priced thing for an experienced but currently unfit athlete's 2008 triathlon season, what would you recommend? I've been kicking this idea around lately. After five years in the sport and a long year off due to injury, I'm pumped to get back into it better than ever.
(FWIW, I'm committed to consistent training, excellent nutrition, and good recovery. I'm focusing on shorter tri's this year, likely with an A+ HIM in the fall. I own a tri bike, wetsuit, HRM, etc. PR's: Oly=2:29; HIM=5:28; IM=15:39; open 1/2 mary=1:47; open marathon=3:53)
My thoughts were:
- a "package" including: swim lessons/stroke analysis; bike fit w/ power and aero testing; and running/gait analysis
- training camp with experienced/quality coaches and lots of personal interaction (can't afford to take a full week off just yet, too $$$
- Power Meter (was thinking the I-Bike)
Thanks in advance!
