Wanaka - T Minus Four Days

We are now in Queenstown and it is amazingly light as I write. It's just gone 10pm here and it is still light outside. Jen compares it to the IMC 7pm darkness and offers a great set-up to race in the evening.
This morning we flew from home into Dunedin (an hour flight) and picked up the rental car. I spent five years studying/surfing in Dunedin so it was only fitting I showed the family around my old flats, the varisty itself and some of the local beaches. The lead us into the mid afternoon where we drove inland to Queenstown. The weather throughout the trip was a nice 74, however the NWester wind was gusting quite hard in places - kinda reminded me of home! I've been warned the NWester can sew some carnage in the last 40km of the bike.
Tomorrow we pick up my Mum from Queenstwown airport and head North to Wanaka, to meet up with Grammy Baggott and Aunty and Uncle from Rangiora, as well as my favourite Aussie, Ally.
