Wanaka - Wednesday

We are in Wanaka and it's 85 - conditions are forecasted to be a few degrees cooler on race day - any desert lizard would love these coditions!
The morning in Queenstown was cool and provided a nice breeze to take a walk down by the lake and have a coffee:
From there we headed up through Arrowtown - a fantastic little township with a great bakery:
Within the township is the Chinese Settlement - a number of the buildings the Chinese goldminers lived in have been restored. To say these guys were tough living in these conditions during winter doesn't do them justice:
From Cromwell, we decided to head up the return bike course (State Highway Eight). I think it looks great - relatively flat, with a few short rollers to mix up the legs:
The Northern most point of the big loop is Lake Hawera - looks like a swim mid-bike may be in order:
