I am looking to do one of my favorite Epic San Diego rides Saturday the 23rd. Let me know if you’d like to come along. I do not have top shelf fitness but promise to bulldog forward. Leaving Bear Valley off 15 (near North County Fair area // behind gas stations across the street at 8:00am unless something funny happens between now and then [please confirm]). We will ride out past the Wild Animal Park, through Bandy Canyon and up to Ramona. Then out to Dudley's via Old Julian Highway, turn left onto 79, veer right at Lake Henshaw and go out to S2. Then go right to Anzo Borrego desert floor and on over to 78. Go right and up Banner Grade to Julian. Then down from Julian to Santa Ysabel, to Ramona, through Ramona to Highland Valley. We go up then down Highland Valley back to 15; then go north to the start point. It's a long day. 110 miles, 10,000 feet of climbing and will put most of us to the test. Weather may not be perfect (possible drizzle // no snow) and we will keep watching to be sure it not too cold. Ride time will be 7 to 7.5hrs. We will likely stop in Ramona going up, as well as Dudley's, Banner Store, and Ramona as we go back through town. Total time out ==> add stops to ride time. I know the ride very well. We won’t be trying to rip anybody’s legs off. The ride gets challenging on its own. Have good tires, repair equipment, enough clothing and a good attitude. You better tell somebody.
