Mat-Dawg Steinmetz has a nice article over at his blog that examines the mental challenge that comes with injury and recovery.
I can 'feel' his angst as I have lived with the challenge more often than I would have liked. The article is here:
As far as the picture and caption -- who schooled who -- let me put it this way, Mat is a stud and is going UP. Out of all the athletes at camp he is the one I kept watching. Strong is an understatement. In a few short years Elite Power and Pace over the distance (the long one) will be his. I sat in a pace line two to three athletes behind Mat and was pushing over 300 watts. Fortunately Gordo came to the front and Mat-Dawg let up a bit so I was able to return to 230ish. When a man weighs 45lbs less than you do and pushes more power on the bike -- you give one thing straight away -- respect!
