Today we started out with a run, I have an angry Achilles so I only ran 10 minutes and then did a long stretch session. We have a chiropractor with us that practices ART and he did a little work on me today. This has been going on since late March when I upped the volume in preparation for the camp. I had taken a long lay off since IM Wisco and it was probably a bad idea. I had been working on it since and I was probably 90% by the time I got here. I am guessing the big ring climb up Gates aggravated it. Then it was off toe the big swim day. It was the longest swim I had ever completed. Thanks to yesterdays AC technique session I saw times I wasn’t used to seeing. Following the swim we had lunch and then on the bikes for a 50 mile ride. I was in the pace line until mile 24, my Achilles was acting up so I did the two down in the pedal and spin in a lower gear. This worked until Jbird and Chris jumped to the front and managed a monster pull. I couldn’t keep up spinning and experienced a little discomfort when I dropped it into the 12 so I was off the back. I managed a steady pace for the rest of the ride, gutted it through the climb up the other side of Gates Pass. Then it was a shower and off to a great meal at HQ. After dinner was another ART session and now I have ice on the Achilles and heat on the area that was worked on. We will see how things go tomorrow.
