I rode for 4hrs today. Not hard riding; just lower steady and very even efforts. My goal was 4hrs of even efforts absent power spikes. The course had about 3000 feet of cumulative climbing so I had to use my gears to dictate the amount of work done. I don't ride this way as much as I used to but it is a good reminder to me that if I am not over geared, choose to be in control, and want to select cadence, then I can do whatever I want no matter how the road changes shape or what direction the wind takes.
1st half: NP 195 // AP 189 // VI 1.03 // Avg HR 117
2nd half: NP 194 // AP 188 // VI 1.03 // Avg HR 128
Entire::: NP 194 // AP 188 // VI 1.03 // Avg HR 124
