My bike camp continues to roll along. I have had a key ride every 48hrs.
The pattern is 3x longer and steady (4,5,5hrs) // 1x mod-hard hill repeats (3hrs)
(repeat that pattern)
Today's ride was 4:15 ==>
NP 198 // AP 193 // HR 125 // VI 1.03
1st half - 200 // 196 // 115 // 1.02
2nd half - 196 // 191 // 130 // 1.03
San Diego is not a bad place to ride. This week the Marines are having some big training operations so the coast highway is closed through the base. That means I got to ride the shoulder on Interstate 5 from Las Pulgas to Christianitos, or about 10 miles north and then 10 miles south. I haven't been out on the interstate since 2001 when the base shut down to the public. The shoulders are like glass. Very smooth blacktop and quite clean. 25-30mph going north and 15-20mph going south. Power was elevated out there as the whole experience is kind of spooky!
