Some of you might be away that I have had some pretty serious ongoing problems with my feet (4yrs now). Severe burning, tingling and pins and needles in my toes and peroneal nerve pain just below my left knee.
I recently did IM Germany and right from the start of the run my feet were in severe pain. I still managed to finish the race (58/5:16/4:03) but once again my run was well below what I would love to be doing.
Well I was finally sent off for MRI. My feet appear to be okay but my lower back is another story.
The results show that
I have a compression fracture in my L5
I have a disc hernia at L4/5/S and also a bulging disc at L4/5 which is compressing the right root.
It was also discovered that I am B12 deficient. I'm not sure what that means yet.
This is all new to me.
I haven't been to the orthopaedic surgeon yet or the neurologist. I'm booked in early next month.
Unfortunately I live in japan and language is an issue.
Has anyone got any advise they can give me so that I'm armed with enough knowledge and questions I can possibly ask these doctors?
To KP and Jeff i have spoken to both of you a while ago about this. Any further tips or causes of actions there might be that think could be of help?
Any advise would be much appreciated
P.S Should I post this on Endurance corner?
