Hey mate -
My avg HR over the last half of the test was 170.
NP and AP were the same (VI of 1.0)
Avg cadence was 100
Avg speed was 25.6mph or 41.5kph into a bit of a headwind over some coastal undulations
I am certain that I was correct when I said my multiple long ride power numbers were 70-73% of FTP. My guess is that the bump in fitness I got from my bike camp probably would have resulted in testing a touch higher yesterday had I not detrained for three weeks, maintained nutritional focus over that time and had less family stress.
High levels of personal stress is very very tough on athletic performance. The greater the stress the higher the toll. As a man who works carefully to lower stress in his life you register this fact as clearly as I do. As a coach I must constantly emphasize this fact to the athletes and patients I work with. Training loads and recovery must be shaped with this in mind. Stress from family issues, work stress, financial stress, self imposed stress to succeed, imagined stress, stress from sleep deprivation, nutritional stress -- it's all a handicap if it's stress (not talking about TSS).
