Thanksgiving everyday!

Dr. Robert Emmons, a psychology professor at UC Davis has written about the new science of gratitude and how it can make you happier. He says that "the state of gratitude can be demanding as it requires self-reflection, the ability to admit one is dependant upon the help of others, and a humility to realize one's own limitations; and there is a need to repay kindness received. All things worthwhile has it's costs."

His research shows that people who have "cultivated the trait of gratitude" exercise more, get better sleep, report more energy and vitality and are bothered less by bodily pain." They also experience more joy, enthusiasm, love, happiness and optimism and are better able to handle stress and recover from illness.

"Gratitude, we have found, maximizes the enjoyment of the good."
