100 pound women smackdown

is what my friend Dev is calling my latest attempt at madness, in July, if time, money and body permit. My buddy Zoe is in on this adventure too! I first met Zoe in Ottawa Canada, when I was doing my first Ironman, aptly titled "the canadian". Much better than any WTC race we all pay big money for, let me tell ya! Since then Zoe and I have exchanged a few thoughts but mostly, I hope she bites!

In preparation for afore mentioned madness, I swam 8.5Ks yesterday in two sessions, back to back after a 3 hour ride. I have a couple of interesting thoughts to share:

.a. Running immediately after swimming leads to requiring lesser recovery time for the legs because I nailed the second swim session after a bit of nutrition and caffeine (swims were done at 4K, 30 minute break for food, 4.5K)

.b. Super-sized paddles lead to fore-arm soreness and cool biceps within a week of 20Ks of swimming. Previous weeks were around 15-17ks for 4-ish weeks :)

.c. When in doubt, stop making a coaches life miserable by not taking instructions!!

As I said, 2009 is going to be my best year ever :)
