Monday marked my 50th straight day of riding. Some of it has been in 80 degree weather and some of it was done in 30s and 40s with rain. But each ride has been outdoors. Over the 50 days I have done some very tough 3-4hr rides, some 5 to 6hr rides and an organized Century that were made quite challenging by great company who decided to turn the pedals rather aggrressively (Julie, Justin, John, Toby, Tati, Jen, Pablo, Michellie, Mike the Bike and Kevin). In those 50 days I have logged 101 hours and 2855 kilometers. Only one of the longer rides was coastal (160k). All rides have been over one hour. The longer rides are mostly in the east county up and out to locations like Dudley's Bakery, Julian, Descanso, Highland Valley, Ramona, Great Western Loop, Lake Wohlford, Anzo Borrego, Ocotillo, etc). There's still a chance I'll do a century later this week and then climb Palomar to see the Tour de California finish the 22nd but the ride streak will likely end in February. I need to increase my run frequency! Some good news, other than increased fitness, is that the more I ride the better my back feels (I had herniated a disc). The more I ride the better my wrists, feet, butt and neck feel. My point, if you have good equipment and a decent fit, frequency and volume often take care of the aches and pains associated with cycling. THAT sure makes it more fun!
Keep it Rollin' ....
