sciatic nerve pain

KP!

I have started yet again feeling very uncomfortable while sitting and riding my bike. I have pain in my left hip and uncomfort in right knee while pedaling. running isn't such problematic as I can somehow "guide" my stride my pelvic rotation so that it's not painful. though on longer runs I tend to get a very tight ITB on the left side.
I will have to sort this stuff out now and will go take x-rays, but could you have a guess of what's going on with here. I think it's the sciatic nerve on the left side that is the problem (maybe due to leg length difference/hip misalignement?). could I try to relieve pain with trying a shim under one cleat and if so which one. Problem is docs and PTs here aren't that familiar with tri/cycling, so I would need some point of reference on how to present the problem etc. to them.

thanks alot!
