Yo, why didnt anyone tell me that all-carbon bikes ride like butter?? I am a new woman, now that I rode one of these for 30 minutes.. I didnt feel like rolling too quickly through stop signs either....... I am in love.
So, here are some brilliant questions.. a low-end carbon bike (aluminum handlebars) is around 2KUSD here.. (4K NZD)...... is this a good deal or else where should I look? The retail price doesnt include compact cranks (for the incompetent, such as yours truly).
If one were building a bike (buy the frame seperately, fork seperately, parts seperately) etc. etc., would you go with a second-hand frame? I am not a structural engineer, even if I were, I wouldnt be able to tell if a bike had cracks Im paranoid about a second-hand bike, for this one reason. Ive heard that carbon also snaps pretty easy *sigh*.. I just ride my bike.. too many details here.
Advice please! Im about to spend my first child's college tuition on this bike so, Id better get some recommendations first.
