Strength Work // Open Water Events in September

I've been hitting it hard in the gym for awhile which makes the upper body and legs a bit less sparky in the water and on the bike. However, I am seeing some good upper body strength gains and having fun. The routine is chest, shoulders and triceps one day, back, biceps, legs the next, core and floor work the next, repeat. I'll take a day off when I get tired or ride longer. On the days I do traditional weights it is light weight, 10 sets, 10 reps per body part. Looking for added strength, connective tissue adaptations and to tighten up.

I've got two Open Water events coming up:

1) The La Jolla Rough Water Swim -- 3mile version called The Gatorman:

2) The 5x2mile relay to benefit Juvenile Diabetes on the last weekend of September
